Steel procurement
28MnCrB5 coils from certified mills — SAIL, Jindal, TATA, ArcelorMittal. Full mill test certificates confirming chemical composition before any cutting begins.

02
CNC laser cutting
Circular discs are cut directly from steel coil/sheet using CNC laser — no blanking press. Notch profiles, U-cut scallops, and bore holes are all laser cut to precise geometry in the same operation.

03
Press forming
Hydraulic press lines form the concavity profile — flat, 28mm, 32mm, or 36mm depth. Disc geometry established before heat treatment so the quench locks in both hardness and shape simultaneously.
±0.5mm tolerance
04
8-zone conveyor furnace
Diesel and gas-fired conveyor furnace — 8 zones, 16 burners, 10 metres long. Each zone independently temperature-controlled for consistent austenitisation through the full disc cross-section.

05
Press quenching
Each disc is constrained in a precision die during rapid cooling — simultaneously locking in 48–52 HRC martensitic microstructure and maintaining flatness. No post-quench straightening required.
48–52 HRC
06
Shot blasting
Scale and oxides removed in shot blast chamber to Sa 2.5 cleanliness. Induces beneficial compressive stress at the disc edge for improved fatigue resistance.
